You could buy a high-end MacBook Air and an iPhone SE for what Samsung is asking for the Trifold. But then again, those devices don’t fold into a tablet when you need more screen real estate.  

The key consideration is not why the Trifold costs $2,899 for a smartphone. Premium device prices have steadily increased. The real question is whether the Trifold form factor addresses a genuine consumer need or simply delivers a novel solution without clear demand.  

Samsung is targeting early adopters, technology enthusiasts, and professionals who manage multiple devices. The company expects its users to recognize the value proposition. Samsung has established a niche with its Z Fold series, despite early skepticism. In terms of durability and utility, the Trifold is the next step in this strategy.
