Asus has officially launched the ProArt GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card with some portal layout changes. The announcement confirms it uses the NVIDIA Founder Edition three-piece PCB layout. The card is part of NVIDIA’s special program with select add-in board partners. Jeff Fisher publicly confirmed this at an ASUS event at launch. A few days later, the RTS-5080 featured a traditional triple-fan cooler; the new model uses a compact 2.5 slot form factor that meets NVIDIA’s SSF-ready guidelines. This makes it ideal for small-form-factor systems while maintaining flagship performance.  

The cooling system closely follows the GeForce RTX 5090 Founder’s Edition. It features two 115 mm axial fans on either side of a central vapor chamber. This setup, combined with heat pipes and a fin stack, implements Nvidia’s double-axial, double-flow-through cooling concept. The design improves airflow and heat dissipation in compact systems. Asus further enhances thermal performance by using liquid metal as the thermal interface material. This method is usually reserved for high-end designs due to its superior heat transfer.  

A key difference between the ProArt GeForce RTX 5090 and the Founder’s Edition is the I/O configuration. Asus has replaced one DisplayPort output with a USB Type-C port. This change benefits content creators and professionals who can view it as a tradeoff vs display. It enables direct connectivity.
