Samsung first launched its March 2026 security update for the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea. The rollout then expanded to users in Europe and India.
If you have a Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra, look for a PDA build number ending in BZC1. This will help you spot the March 2026 update. The next update is expected to be a bigger one One UI 8.5 is on the way.
The March update addresses 67 security issues, with 60 from Google and 7 from Samsung. It also changes some system-level functions.
Go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. If it’s not available, the update is still rolling out and may take time to reach your device.
Samsung started testing the One UI 8.5 Beta in December. Beta testers are expected to get the 8th beta version tomorrow. The stable release will depend on the testers’ input.
Samsung is introducing AirDrop support to QuickShare for the Galaxy S26 series in a phased rollout: Korean users will receive it first, followed by Europe and the US. India is not included at this stage.

March 2026 Security Update Reaches US Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, Fold6, and Flip6
In the US, the update is now available for carrier-locked versions of the four foldable phones. Firmware versions ending in ZC1 are for the foldable phones. ZC3 and ZC1 are for the flip series. The update is about 500 MB.
To check for the update manually, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The update is rolling out in stages, so it may take a few days to appear on all devices and carriers.
The March update focuses on stability and security. There’s more coming soon. Samsung has just started the One UI 8.5 Android 16 QPR2 beta program for its latest foldable devices: the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
The upcoming version will bring a new look and several new features. Once the stable One UI 8.5 update is released for the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, Samsung plans to make it available for the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 soon after, but the exact timing will depend on how the rollout progresses.
