  • Up to 6.9x faster AI video enhancement performance in Topaz Video compared to MacBook with M1 and up to 1.9x faster than MacBook with M4.  
  • 3D rendering with ray tracing in Blender is up to 6.5 times faster than on a MacBook Air with M1 and up to 1.5 times faster than on a MacBook Air with M4.  
  • Web browsing performance on the MacBook Air with M5 is up to 50% faster than on a PC laptop equipped with an Intel Core Ultra X7 processor, according to Apple’s tests. Additionally, more demanding tasks on the MacBook Air with M5 are reported to be up to twice as fast as on that specific PC laptop.  

Twice the starting storage with a faster SSD 

The MacBook Air with M5 now starts with 512GB of storage, which is twice as much as the previous model, and can be configured up to 4TB for the first time. This gives plenty of space for big projects and games. The new SSD is also twice as fast at reading and writing files, making it easier for creators to import large photo libraries and for students to run AI workloads on their devices.
