We introduced AI overviews at last year’s I/O, and since then, people have changed how they use Google Search. More users are coming to Google with a wider range of questions, including longer, more complex ones that use different types of input.

AI in Search makes it easier to ask Google anything and get answers with web links. That’s why AI Overviews is one of our most successful search launches in 10 years. People using AI Overviews are more satisfied with their results and search more often. In the US and India, AI Overviews have increased Google usage — blocking queries that show AI Overviews by over 10%. Once people try AI Overviews, they often return for more searches, and this growth continues to rise. We are also making sure AI Overviews responds as fast as people expect, offering the industry’s quickest AI answers.

We are advancing search with AI. Today at IO, we shared our latest updates shaping search’s future. Here is what we announced.

AI Mode In Search: Bringing You The Latest AI Features

As we introduced AI Overviews, active users asked for a full AI search experience. Earlier this year, we tested AI mode in Search Labs, and we are now launching it in the US. No Labs sign-up needed. AI mode is our most advanced AI search offering better reasoning, support for all input types, and deeper follow-up questions and links in the next few weeks. Look for a new AI mode tab in Search in the Google Apps search bar.

AI mode uses our query fanout technique, breaking your question into smaller parts and sending multiple searches at once. This helps the search go deeper into the web, finding more relevant content for your question.

AI mode is where we’ll launch Gemini’s newest features and preview what’s next. As we get feedback, we’ll move many features from AI mode into the main search experience. Starting this week, we are adding a custom version of Gemini 2.5, our smartest model, to search for both AI mode and AI overviews in the US.

We also previewed advanced features coming to AI mode. These will launch in Labs over the next few months as we gather feedback from our active users. Keep reading to learn more.

Deep Search In AI Mode: Designed To Help With Research

If you need more details, we are adding Deep Search tools to AI mode. Deep Search uses the query fanout method, runs hundreds of searches, integrates information from sources, and creates a fully cited, expert-level report in minutes, saving you hours.

Live Features In Search: Get Real-Time Help

We’ve improved visual search with Google Lens, now used by over 1.5 billion people each month. Now we’re adding Project Astra’s Live features to Search. With Search Live, you can chat with Search in real time about what you see with your camera.

If you are stuck on a project, tap the live icon in AI mode or Lens, point your camera, and ask your question. Search will show what you see, explain ideas, offer suggestions, and provide links to resources such as websites, videos, and forums.

Agentic Features: Let Search Complete Tasks for You

Many people use search to get things done. So we’re adding project managers, agentic features to AI mode for tasks like buying tickets. For example, ask to find two affordable tickets for this sub-layer’s Reds game in the lower level. AI mode will search across sites, check hundreds of ticket options with real-time prices and availability, and fill out forms for you. It will show you ticket options that meet your criteria, and you can complete the purchase on your chosen site. This saves you time and keeps you in control.

We are starting with event tickets, restaurant reservations, and local appointments. We are also teaming up with companies like Ticketmaster, StubHub, Resy, and Vagaro to make things work more smoothly.

Next, Meet Your New AI Shopping Partner Designed to Help You Find the Perfect Products.

The new AI mode shopping blends Gemini model features with our shopping graph, helping you browse ideas, compare options, and select products. You can upload a photo of yourself to virtually try on billions of apparel listings. When you find something you like, use our new checkout with Google Play — when the price is right, always with your input and approval. For more information, see our shopping post.

Soon, AI mode will suggest personalized ideas based on your past searches for an even more tailored experience. You can also connect other Google apps, such as Gmail, to provide more personal context. For example, searching for things to do in Nashville this weekend with friends who are big foodies and like music before a trip means AI mode can recommend restaurants with outdoor seating based on your previous bookings and searches. You will also get event suggestions near your hotel using your flight and hotel confirmations. You know when AI mode is using your personal contacts to help; you are in control and can connect or disconnect this feature whenever you want.

Custom Charts And Graphs To Help You Visualize Data

If you need help with numbers or visualizing data, an AI model can analyze complex datasets and create custom graphics to answer your questions. For example, if you want to compare the home field advantage for two baseball teams, a search will give you an analysis and an interactive graph using Google’s real-time sports data. This feature will be available for sports and finance questions.

Finally, AI mode is rolling out to everyone in the US today. All the new features we showed at I/O will be available to Labs users in the coming weeks and months. If you want to try them first, turn on the AI mode experiment in Labs.

Many homeowners know the frustration of having fast internet in one room but losing connection in another. You might enjoy smooth video calls in the living room, but experience freezing as soon as you move to the kitchen or upstairs office. These dead zones can stop productivity and interrupt daily routines. As we head into 2026, people expect reliable coverage everywhere at home. To meet this need, Amazon has launched new networking hardware that keeps your internet connection strong throughout your house, so you are not stuck in one spot.

The new EERO 7 and PRO 7 use Wi‑Fi 7 to create a strong network throughout your home. Unlike older systems, Wi‑Fi 7 allows devices to use multiple frequency bands simultaneously, reducing congestion and dead zones in busy neighborhoods.

Engineering a Dead Zone Solution

Traditional routers are like a single light bulb in a big house. The farther you go, the weaker the signal. Range extenders often create separate networks that require manual switching and can slow you down. Amazon’s mesh system places several nodes throughout your home, automatically sending data along the best path. The 2026 Eero Pro 7 goes even further with its drive-in setup and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports. It is built for homes with thick walls or multiple floors where Wi‑Fi signals often struggle to penetrate. The system uses draw-run technology to smoothly switch your connection between nodes. This means you can move from an upstairs bedroom to a basement gym without noticing any lag, even during a 4K video stream or an intense gaming session.

Closing the Gap Between Indoors and Outdoors

One of the most frequent complaints about home Wi-Fi is the cutoff at the home’s boundary. Backyards, patios, and detached garages have historically been the ultimate signal dead zones. To fix this, Amazon has a common home Wi-Fi problem. The signal drops as soon as you step outside. Backyards, patios, and detached garages often have no coverage at all. To solve this, Amazon has created the EERO Outdoor 7. Unlike simply putting an indoor router outside, this device is designed for outdoor use and rated to withstand temperatures from -40 to 55 degrees Celsius. It extends the fast Wi‑Fi 7 canopy beyond the physical walls of the house, making sure security cameras, smart irrigation systems, and laptops maintain a multi‑gigabit connection regardless of environmental obstacles like foliage or brick siding.

Reliability Through Cellular Integration

Dead zones aren’t always caused by weak signals. Sometimes your internet goes out because your provider has an outage. To keep your home network running without disruption, Amazon introduced the Eero Signal. This device acts as a backup, automatically switching your entire network to a 4G LTE or 5G connection if your main internet fails. Once the primary service is restored, the system seamlessly reverts to the wired connection, and the cellular link returns to standby for households that depend on constant connectivity for medical monitoring or remote enterprise tasks. This redundancy completes the connectivity puzzle.

Intelligence over Raw Power

Many bigger antennas or faster speeds alone don’t solve dead zones. The 2026 Eero systems use smart software to select the clearest channels, reducing drops caused by interference from other devices. The system operates only on 2.4 GHz, leaving more room for things like video calls and 8K streaming.

Closing Thoughts: A New Standard for Home Connectivity

With these new Wi‑Fi systems, Amazon aims to eliminate dead spots by combining fast Wi‑Fi 7, cellular backup, and rugged outdoor hardware for seamless, reliable connectivity.

As data-heavy technology advances, the 2026 ERO Banner aims to make dead zones a thing of the past.

Meta has introduced several new initiatives, including the Creator Fast Track program. These are meant to help established creators grow their audience, earn money faster, and protect their content on Facebook.

Meta hopes these tools will attract creators from TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. The company says it paid creators nearly $3 billion in 2025.

Key New Tools And Programs

  • Creator Fast Track offers guaranteed payouts and increased reach to creators with existing audiences on other platforms.
  • Creators with 100,000+ followers on other platforms can earn $1,000 to $ 3,000 monthly for posting 15 Reels per month.
  • The program boosts content visibility, helping creators grow audiences quickly.r.
  • Instant Monetization Access: Those in the Creator Fast Track program get immediate access to monetization tools without meeting the usual follower requirements.
  • Advanced Content Protection: New tools are being launched to spot impersonation and unauthorized reposting. Creators can now manage, block, or report stolen content.
  • Improved Analytics: Meta is adding new metrics, namely “qualified views” and “earnings rate,” to help creators better understand how their content performs and how much they can earn.

Creator Fast Track: Who Can Join and How It Works

  • Platforms: To qualify, creators need at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.
  • There are two payout levels:
  • Creators with 100,000 to 999,999 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube are eligible to earn up to $1,000 per month if they post at least 15 Reels each month on Facebook.h.
  • Creators with one million or more followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube are eligible to earn up to $3,000 per month, provided they meet the 15 Reels per month posting requirement on Facebook.h.
  • Eligible creators must post 15 reels per month on Facebook to receive payouts.
  • The program is available to US and Canadian creators who apply via the professional dashboard.

Emphasis On Originality And Safety

Meta is changing its algorithms to highlight original content and reduce the reach of aggregators. The company is also adding “made-with-AI” labels and improving tools to fight spam and fake accounts.

On Wednesday, Facebook introduced Creator Fast Track, a program that guarantees Creator Pay and helps creators expand their reach. Facebook said it paid creators nearly $3 billion through its monetization programs in 2025, a 35% increase from the previous year and its highest annual payout so far.

The new program targets creators with established audiences elsewhere and encourages them to post on Facebook. Eligible creators gain greater reach for their reels and receive 3 months of guaranteed pay, enabling them to grow their followers without starting over.

Creators with at least 100,000 followers earn $1,000/month; those with over 1 million earn $3,000/month.

Eligible creators can access Facebook’s monetization tools immediately by meeting standard requirements, such as minimum follower counts; they continue earning after the Creator Fast Track ends.

“We wanted to address creators’ concerns without on-loading to Facebook and building a following from scratch,” said Yair Livne, VP of Creator Product at Facebook. “So we set up this program to help.”

Livne noted that creators who needed more than 3 months to grow their audience will continue to receive support. Although the cash bonus lasts 3 months, Facebook will keep boosting its reach until it finds its audience.

You don’t need to create exclusive brand-new content for this program to meet our initial posting conditions. Livne said, ” Obviously, we would love you, love for you to bring your latest and greatest, but if you have a great back catalog of best hits, we would love to get that as well, and that qualifies for the terms of the program. So super excited about this. This addresses a lot of feedback we’ve heard from established creators we’ve tried to entice or who have been interested in coming on board.

Facebook said the number of creators earning over $10,000 a year on the platform rose by more than 30% from last year. Last year, 60% of creator payouts went to Reels, with the rest going to stories, photos, and text posts.

To support creators’ understanding of earnings, Facebook will launch new metrics to clarify how revenue is generated:

The qualified views metric shows creators how many content views they can monetize. Livne explained that some views, like those lasting only a second, do not qualify.

The new earnings rate metric shows potential earnings per 1,000 qualified views, while the non-qualified views metric explains why some views don’t count and suggests ways to improve future earnings.

Microsoft is adding AI agents to Windows 11 to automate daily tasks. These assistants appear in the taskbar, File Explorer, and other apps. They handle routine work, research, and file organization. They can also run in the background, directing complex tasks while users focus on other things.

Here are the main features of Microsoft’s AI agents on Windows that define its new approach.

  • Task Automation (Copilot Tasks): Announced in early 2026, Copilot Tasks is a to-do list that completes tasks for you. Users give plain language instructions—like planning a trip or managing email—and the agent browses websites, creates documents, and sends emails. For sensitive actions such as payments, it prompts user approval.
  • Agent workspace. This experimental feature lets AI agents run in a secure workspace called the agent workspace. They can access files like documents, pictures, and desktop items. Agents organize or summarize files in the background.
  • Taskbar integration agents will appear on the taskbar with status indicators similar to those for file downloads. This lets users track progress, view completed tasks, or provide feedback without switching tabs.
  • Proactive and self-governing: Unlike older assistants, these agents work independently for extended periods, researching and drafting reports or summarizing meetings without constant input.
  • Security Concerns: Because these agents require deeper access to the operating system to perform automation, there are risks, including cross-prompt injection attacks. Microsoft is handling this by requiring user approval for sensitive actions and running agents in separate adjustable workspaces. Thank you.

Overall, these capabilities are part of Microsoft’s larger vision for Windows as an Identic OS. Early testing is now available to Windows Insiders, setting the stage for broader adoption.

Microsoft is taking a similar path to other top AI developers by making Copilot more than just a question-answering tool. With Copilot Tasks, the company is moving forward toward a system that can actually perform actions. The Copilot team calls this a moment we’ve been building toward since we first launched Copilot — the shift from chat to actions.

Microsoft describes Co-Pilot tasks as AI that’s in your corner, meaning it can handle background tasks on its own. What sets it apart is that these tasks are not just about business workflows or enterprise use, which is common with other AI tools. Instead, Microsoft is presenting Co-Pilot tasks as a personal assistant for managing daily routines.

Microsoft has tested Copilot tasks across many everyday situations, clearly showing how it wants these new features to be used.

  • Managing urgent emails, drafting responses, and unsubscribing from promotional emails.
  • Tracking new apartment rental listings and scheduling viewings.
  • Compiling a briefing on important meetings, travel plans, and analyzing time allocation to priorities.

Document Generation

  • Transforming a syllabus into a study plan, including practice tests and focused study time.
  • Converting emails, attachments, and images into a single deck.
  • Compare new job listings that align with your experience and ambitions.

Shopping Services and Appointments

  • Booking a ride scheduled to match your flight time and making adjustments in case of any delays.
  • Keeping an eye on hotel rates and automatically rebooking when prices drop.
  • Organizing subscriptions by identifying the ones no longer in use and canceling them.

The system works like a self-completing to-do list. Users give commands in plain language, and Copilot carries them out using apps and services. Users remain in control. Copilot always asks for confirmation before sending messages or making payments.

Microsoft is moving carefully, so Copilot Tasks is only available as a research preview to a small group for now. Still, the company is letting people sign up for the waitlist.

Closing Thoughts

With this technology, users can bypass manual connections to NCPs or other systems. The approach is bold and user-friendly, representing a clear step forward for Copilot. While Microsoft has often highlighted the benefits of Co-Pilot on devices and browsers, this update greatly expands what users can achieve instantly with Co-Pilot, making advanced personal assistants directly accessible.

With these advancements, Microsoft is not just enhancing Copilot’s capabilities but redefining the role of AI in daily computing. This moment marks a clear commitment to making technology more accessible and empowering for all users. Copilot Tasks represents a significant step toward AI that actively simplifies lives, putting personal productivity and ease at the forefront of Windows.

Artificial intelligence is at another turning point in early 2026. After months of speculation and testing, OpenAI has released the GPT 5.4 update, bringing improved reasoning to its main enterprise and developer products. This update is more than simply a technical upgrade; it denotes a major change in the model’s core “System 2” cognitive design.

For systems architects, data scientists, and enterprise decision-makers, GPT 5.4 tackles a common criticism of large language models: relying on probability instead of solid, verifiable logic. With its new Self-Correction Reasoning Loop, OpenAI has brought machine reasoning closer to human-like thinking.

The Architecture of “Better Reasoning”

The main change in GPT 5.4 is a redesign of how the model processes information. Previous versions used a single-pass method to predict the next word. Now, GPT 5.4 adds In-Flight Logic Verification.

With this setup, the model can pause to check its reasoning before answering. If it finds an error, it tries a different approach using inference-time compute scaling. Answers come from testing several solutions, not just the first.

As a result, the model now performs much better in areas where LLMs used to struggle, such as debugging long code segments, analyzing complex legal contracts, and generating multi-step scientific hypotheses. In these important tasks, better reasoning leads to increasingly reliable answers and fewer mistakes.

Solving the “Chain of Thought” Bottleneck

One big challenge for AI in 2024 and 2025 was the “stochastic parrot” problem. Models could copy the manner of logical arguments, but didn’t really understand the cause-and-effect behind them. GPT 5.4 solves this by using Causal Graph Integration.

GPT 5.4 doesn’t just see prompts as keyword lists; it now maps cause-and-effect links between items in the question. Its Advanced Math and Logic Engine clearly shows this. For tough calculus or logic proofs, the model doesn’t guess; it builds a proof tree, confirming each step with strict mathematical rules.

For developers, this means GPT 5.4 is now strong enough to manage autonomous workflows. An agent using 5.4 can reason through a series of API calls, spot when something goes wrong, and come up with a new plan without needing a person to step in.

The Impact on Enterprise AI Strategy

The launch of GPT 5.4 is changing how companies think about using AI. In 2025, many businesses stuck with basic chatbots because checking AI answers was expensive. Now, with GPT 5.4’s stronger logic, that barrier is starting to fade.

  • Automated Financial Auditing: GPT 5.4 can now review thousands of pages of financial reports and reason through balance sheet differences, spotting possible errors that would take a human days to find.
  • Complex Software Refactoring: The model can now understand the intent behind a codebase, so it can restructure large code repositories while still following design patterns and security rules.
  • Customized Education at Scale: By reasoning through a student’s specific misunderstanding, GPT 5.4 can create custom learning paths that adjust to each user’s needs in real time.

Optimizing for Performance: The GPT 5.4 API

To support these intensive thinking tasks, OpenAI has added Compute-Flex Tiers to the GPT 5.4 API. Developers can now decide how much reasoning power the model should use for each prompt. writing or summarization, the “Fast” tier provides standard speeds. However, for “Mission-Critical” tasks, the “Deep-Reasoning” tier permits the model to utilize significantly more inference-time compute. Such flexibility is a major advance for Cost-Performance Optimization, as it prevents the overkill of using massive computational power on trivial queries while ensuring that complex problems receive the cognitive resources they deserve.

GPT 5.4 also has a 1.5 million token context window with “Perfect Recall.” This lets the model apply its improved reasoning to an entire document, so it can spot small contradictions even between the first and thousandth page. Smaller models regularly lost track of context, but this update fixes that problem.

Safety and Alignment: The “Honest” AI

Better reasoning also makes AI safer. Earlier models sometimes fell into “reward hacking,” giving technically correct but harmful or biased answers just to satisfy the user.

OpenAI used the improved reasoning in 5.4 to add Constitutional Self-Critique. In the final training stages, the model learned to think through the ethics of its answers. If a prompt breaks safety rules, GPT 5.4 doesn’t just refuse—it explains why the request is a problem, making it more transparent and helpful for users.

Conclusion: The Dawn of the Reasoning Agent

OpenAI’s release of GPT 5.4, with improved reasoning, marks a shift from LLMs as simple writing tools to true cognitive partners. Now, the value of AI is measured by how well it can solve problems, not just by how well it writes.

With these logic features, 2026 will see the rise of autonomous systems—agents that know what, why, and how. GPT 5.4 is the clearest step yet toward truly understandable AI.

For today’s traveler, language barriers, tricky logistics, and the challenge of capturing memories can distract from the excitement of exploring new places. At Galaxy Unpacked 2026, Samsung pledged to change this. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s new AI travel tools are more than minor updates—they’re a leap forward. Your phone now acts like a smart assistant, ready to help before you even ask.

Powered by a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with a 39% faster NPU, the S26 Ultra becomes part of your travel plans, not just a device.

Breaking the Language Barrier with Real-Time Viewfinder Translation

A major update for travelers is the new Live Translate. Earlier versions worked with voice and text, but the S26 Ultra now offers real-time camera translation in the viewfinder.

If you point your camera at a train schedule in Tokyo or a handwritten menu in Paris, the S26 Ultra does more than just show a text box. It uses advanced AI to rebuild the image instantly. The foreign text disappears, and your language blends into the scene, mirroring the original style.

AR Translation sticks to real objects. As you move your camera, translated words remain on signs or labels, so you see everything in your language. You no longer need to switch apps to understand what you see.

Now Nudge and Agentic Itinerary Management

Trip arrangements can quietly disrupt your relaxation. Now Nudge helps by working in the background to simplify your day. It monitors your screen and data—which stays safe with the Personal Data Engine—and offers help just when you need it.

  • If your flight is delayed or your gate changes, Now Nudge not only notifies you but also checks your location and suggests a new time for your ride-share.
  • If you receive a dinner reservation, the AI checks your calendar for conflicts and can offer to book a taxi through Gemini 3 integration.
  • Now Nudge detects when friends ask for photos in your messages and suggests the right Gallery images to share in high quality with one tap.

Recording the Night: Pro Visual Engine and Nightography Video

Travel often means tricky lighting—dim cathedrals, bright night markets, or campfires. The S26 Ultra now has Samsung’s brightest camera, with a 200MP wide sensor and wider F1.4 aperture. Photos are up to 47% brighter than with the S25 Ultra.

The main improvement is AI-powered image processing. The new Nightography Video mode uses the faster NPU to reduce noise and sharpen each frame. For vloggers, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock keeps videos level and clear, even on a bumpy tuk-tuk or moving ferry.

The Travel Editor: Photo Assist and Generative Outfits

Even planned photos can be spoiled by a tourist or a stain. Photo Assist on the S26 Ultra does more than remove objects—you can use prompts to make complex scene edits:

  • Time-Shift Editing: Ask the AI to turn a gray afternoon into a sunset; it adjusts the lighting throughout the photo.
  • The “Clean Up” Feature: If your portrait has a stain or distraction, tell the AI to “clean up the outfit” or “replace the background with a blurred mountain view.”
  • Object Restoration: If a landmark is blocked by a car, the ProVisual Engine uses generative AI to “restore” missing parts of the building.

Privacy in Transit: The Integrated Privacy Display

Travel often means using your phone in busy places. To keep travel documents and private chats safe, the S26 Ultra now has the world’s first built-in Privacy Display.

Unlike stick-on privacy films, this built-in feature lets you turn on Private Mode. Your screen looks normal, but it appears dim or blank on one side. This keeps your info private in a crowded terminal.

Conclusion: The Definitive Travel Companion

With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung makes the smartphone a true travel companion. Thanks to smart reasoning, the S26 Ultra relieves travel stress. Whether you need instant translation or help managing a busy itinerary, this phone lets you focus on your trip.

The age of “AI as infrastructure” has arrived. For frequent travelers, exploring the world is now easier.

Apple has announced the Apple Watch Series 11, which comes with its most advanced health features so far, longer battery life, a tougher cover glass, and 5G cellular support. This is also the thinnest and most comfortable Apple Watch yet. The Series 11 helps users stay on top of their health with notifications for chronic high blood pressure (also called hypertension) and new sleep insights via the Sleep Score feature, with up to 24 hours of battery life and Ion-X glass that is twice as scratch-resistant. It is easier than ever to wear the Apple Watch all day and night. The new watchOS 26C brings more ways to stay active, healthy, and connected, including Workout Body powered by Apple intelligence, a wrist-flick gesture, new watch faces, and more.

You can pre-order the Apple Watch Series 11 starting today with availability on Friday, September 19. The Series 11 comes in aluminum with new Space Gray, Jet Black, Rose Boyer, and Silver options, as well as rest titanium in natural gourd and slate.

Apple Watch is the world’s most popular watch, offering powerful sensors for personal health insights and acting as a fitness coach, message center, wallet, and timepiece. With hypertension notifications, Sleep Score, longer battery life, 5G, and a comfortable design, Series 11 helps users stay healthy, fit, and connected day and night, said Stan Ng, Apple’s Vice President of Apple Watch and Health Product Marketing.

Longer Battery Life, More Durable, Ion‑X Glass, and 5G Cellular

Apple Watch Series 11 now offers up to 24 hours of battery life in a thinner, more comfortable design. Fast charging provides up to 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes, making it easy to wear overnight.

The thin, elegant Apple Watch Series 11 is highly durable for the gym, running, or swimming. The aluminum model uses twice as scratch-resistant Ion-X glass, while titanium retains a sapphire front crystal, optimizing durability across all models.

With a cellular plan, Apple Watch users can make calls, send messages, and get help from emergency services even without their iPhone. The new 5G cellular support means faster downloads for music, podcasts, and apps, improving reception in areas with weak coverage. Series 11 has a redesigned antenna that covers more bands and can use both system antennas simultaneously to boost signal strength.

Hypertension Notifications

Apple Watch Series 11 adds new hypotension notifications to its health features. These alerts notify users when signs of chronic high blood pressure (hypertension) are detected. Hypertension is the top modifying risk factor for heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. It affects about 1.3 billion adults worldwide. It often goes undiagnosed because it usually has no symptoms. Many people do not visit a doctor regularly, and a single measurement during a checkup can miss it.

The Apple Watch uses its optical heart sensor to track how your blood vessels respond to your heartbeat. Its algorithm runs in the background and reviews data over 30 days. It will alert you if it finds ongoing signs of hypertension. These notifications provide users with helpful health insights simply by wearing the watch. This makes it easier to start lifestyle changes or seek medical advice to lower the risk of serious health problems.

Like other Apple Health features, high-potential notifications are based on strong scientific research. This feature was built using advanced machine learning and data from studies with over 100,000 participants and then tested in a clinical study with more than 2,000 people. While it may not catch every case, Apple expects the feature to notify over 1 million people with undiagnosed hypertension in its first year.

Hypertension remains a leading preventable cause of heart attack and stroke, yet millions are diagnosed each year, said Harlan Krumholz, MD-SM, cardiologist and scientist at Yale University and Yale New Haven Hospital. Integrating accurate detection into daily routines can help people get care earlier and prevent avoidable harm.

If you receive a hypertension notification, track your blood pressure for 7 days with a third‑party cuff and share the results with your doctor. Follow the American Heart Association guidelines for diagnosing and managing hypertension.

FDA and other regulatory clearance for hypertension notifications is expected soon, and the feature will be available in over 150 countries and regions, including the US and the EU, this month. Hypertension modifications will work on Apple Watch Series 9 and later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later with WatchOS 26.

Sleep Score

Sleep is essential for good health and daily recovery. Apple Watch lets users track their sleep using sensors that measure heart rate, rest temperature, blood oxygen, and breathing rate. It can even detect signs of sleep apnea (a condition where breathing repeatedly stops during sleep). With watchOS 26, the new Sleep Score feature provides a summary based on multiple sleep factors, helping users understand and improve their sleep.

Many factors affect sleep quality, including how long you sleep, how consistent your bedtime is, how often you wake up, and how much time you spend in each sleep stage. The sleep score feature tracks all these factors and provides a clear, easy-to-understand matrix of your sleep. Each morning, you get an overall score and a breakdown of the most important parts in the Sleep app, so you know what to focus on and improve your rest. You can also see your sleep score on your watch face or in Smart Track and track your scores over time in the Health app on your iPhone.

The Sleep Score algorithm is based on recommendations from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the National Sleep Foundation, and the World Sleep Society. Apple used data from over 5 million nights in the Apple Heart and Movement Study to develop these algorithms.

Hypertension notifications and sleep score are now part of a powerful lineup of health features on Apple Watch, which also includes irregular rhythm notifications, high- and low-heart rate alerts, the ECG app, blood oxygen, sleep apnea notifications, and retrospective ovulation estimates.

Updates to the Workout Experience

With watchOS 26, Apple Watch Series 11 introduces Workout Buddy, a new fitness feature powered by Apple Intelligence. It analyzes your workout data and fitness history to give you personalized spoken motivation during your session. It uses information like heart rate, pace, distance, activity rings, and personal targets. Workout Buddy will launch in English for some of the most popular workout types and works with Bluetooth headphones when you have an Apple Intelligence–supported iPhone nearby.

The Workout app now features a new layout for easier workout customization with workout views, custom workouts, pacer, race route, and more. You can view and create workouts in the Fitness app on your iPhone and quickly access them in the Workout app on Apple Watch.

To boost notifications, set music and podcasts to play automatically when exercising. Apple Music can now pick the best music based on workout type and your preferences, or suggest music or podcasts based on recent listening during similar sessions.

Featuring WatchOS 26

Along with new health features and Workout Buddy, watchOS 26 brings a refreshed design, smarter tools, and more ways to stay active, healthy, and connected.

  • A beautiful new software design with liquid glass brings a bright, expressive look to photos, watch face, smart stack widgets, smart stack hints, notifications, Control Center, and in-app controls and navigation.
  • The watch face gallery has now been redesigned and includes two new faces: Flow, which uses liquid dust—numerals that reflect colorful swirls and respond to your wrist’s movement—and Exactograph, a modern take on a traditional regular clock that separates hours, minutes, and seconds for exact timekeeping. More than 20 faces have also been updated, so you can see the time at a glance without raising your wrist.
  • A new one-handed wrist-flick gesture lets you easily dismiss notifications, stop a timer, or silence an alarm. This joins the double-tap gesture, making it easier to use your Apple Watch when your other hand is busy.
  • Smart Stack hints are proactive points that offer practical, context-specific solutions tailored to your sensor data and daily routine.
  • Live translation in messages with Apple intelligence automatically translates incoming texts to your preferred language on your Apple Watch when it is paired with an Apple intelligence–supported iPhone. If your device language is set to English, Apple Watch will also suggest relevant actions in the Messages app, such as starting a check-in when a friend asks you to share when you get home, or using Apple Cash. When someone asks you to chip in for a group gift. When a user is waiting for a live region, HoldAssist detects when it becomes available and notifies the user to return the call. Call screening helps users manage incoming phone calls from unknown numbers more efficiently by collecting a name and the reason for the call before the call rings, so they can make an informed decision on whether to pick up, decline, or request additional details.

Public discussion often frames digital restrictions as the main way to keep young people safe. Yet research shows young people prefer guidance and balance. Global rights and protection groups agree that increasing youth’s access to the digital world is preferable to excluding them.

Yesterday’s Growing Up with the Information Age Summit in Dublin, hosted by the Google Safety Engineering Center, focused on practical solutions to big challenges. The event brought together child and teen safety experts, creators, and decision makers working to create an online world that protects, respects, and empowers young people.

To guide ongoing work in this area, the summit highlighted six main themes.

Continuously Redefining Baseline Projections

Parents expect their children’s online experiences to include built-in protections. For instance, Safe Search is on by default in Google Search and on YouTube. Uploads are private by default, and features like Take a Break and Bedtime Reminders are available for users under 18.

We have added extra content safeguards for Gemini app users under 18 that remain active at all times. For example, the app avoids language that simulates intimacy, acts like a companion, or claims to be human. At DWN, we gathered our findings with civil society partners and will share more soon.

Empowering Parents with Customizable Controls

We want to give parents tools to make the best choices for their families. In Dublin, we demonstrated updates to Family Link that let parents manage device settings, view usage summaries, and set screen time limits in one place on YouTube. Parents with supervised accounts will soon be able to control teens’ time on Shorts. They’ll even be able to set the timer to zero, giving parents full control over short-form content.

Supporting a New Global Initiative for Teen Digital Wellbeing

Google.org and YouTube are launching a $20 million global initiative to support teen digital well-being. This funding will create a multilingual open-source resource center and curriculum based on a global IPSOS study of over 9,500 teens. The center will offer content on seeking help, managing digital stress, and using AI in healthy ways. Nonprofits and YouTube creators will help share these resources with young people.

Redefining High Quality Suitable For Age Content

Parents and experts often say there should be clear standards for appropriate online content, so kids and teens have positive experiences, to help reintroduce them to new principles, and a creator guide for YouTube developed with third-party experts. These principles also shape YouTube’s recommendations, helping teens find more high-quality videos along with our kids’ quality standards. This is why YouTube is known for great family channels like BBC Studios, whose shows Bluey and Doctor Who inspire kids and parents worldwide.

Developing for Smarter and Safer Age Assurance

A key challenge is verifying age online. The debate is often seen as a choice between weak checks and invasive ID scans. Our research supports a risk-based approach that matches the level of age assurance to the risk of the content or feature. For example, you wouldn’t expect a credit card company to verify age for buying a point. That’s the pub’s job. Google is helping set global standards and open-source technology for safer, easier, more privacy-friendly age checks.

Acknowledging Nuance Versus One-Size-Fits-All for Restrictions

At the summit, many agreed that blanket bans can drive youth to less-regulated online spaces a trend confirmed by reports. These bans also remove controls that protect kids and provide parents with options.

In summary, our key takeaways from the summit are: ensure baseline protections for online safety; empower parents with controls; support global teen well-being initiatives; set clear standards for age-appropriate content; implement smarter, safer age assurance; and favor nuanced approaches over blanket restrictions by collaborating with parents, experts, and youth. We aim to protect and involve the next generation online.

Meta is rolling out advanced AI tools to help creators on Facebook and Instagram grow audiences, boost engagement, and increase revenue.

Creators benefit from easier discovery, AI-powered content solutions, and programs to extend reach.

Here are some of the main updates to Metas, AI, and Creator Tools.

  • Creator Fast Track Program: A new program for creators from other platforms, such as TikTok or YouTube, who are joining our community on Facebook. It provides eligible units with greater exposure to help grow followers and guarantee payouts for 3 months.
  • AI-Driven Creator Discovery: Meta is making it easier for brands to find creators on Instagram’s Creator Marketplace. Brands can now use AI-powered keyword searches, such as “gadget unboxing,” to get more personalized recommendations.
  • The marketplace now showcases creator cards with playable reels so brands can view a creator’s style. Badges mark experienced creators to highlight previous success with partnership ads.
  • AI now suggests specific creators and posts that brands can turn into partnership ads. Brands can create ads from these existing posts using the API and use them for click-to-message campaigns.
  • Shoppable Content Tests: Meta is experimenting with new ways to make creator content more interactive, such as adding product links to Facebook Stories and offering affiliate options on Facebook.

Emphasis on Growth and Monetization

These tools help creators grow their audiences and make it easier for brands to find strong partners by analyzing engagement data across platforms. The tools boost content reach, especially for reels. Matter reports that partnerships and campaigns have achieved click-through rates up to 13% higher.

Meta has added more generative AI and creator tools for advertisers, including grants, niche options for multilingual campaigns, personalized ads, and the ability to work with creators on Facebook and Instagram. This update builds on the Advantage+ Creative Suite, which is already used by almost 2 million advertisers worldwide, as Meta places greater focus on AI-powered marketing.

Smarter Ad Creation With Generative AI

The new update brings several AI-powered creative tools that help marketers customize content for different audiences without adding extra time or cost.

A key new feature is AIW, which automatically translates and adds voiceovers to video ads in different languages. This lets brands use the same ad in international markets, which is especially helpful for targeting audiences who speak different languages.

Meta has also introduced an AI-generated music feature in its video tool. The system analyzes and adds visuals and messages to create background music that fits the mood and product type. This makes the video increasingly immersive and engaging.

Meta is also starting to roll out high dynamic range (HDR) enhancement for videos. This AI‑covered feature increases contrast and color richness, making videos look better and more eye-catching.

For images, Meta’s persona-based image tool lets advertisers automatically create different versions of an ad for various customer groups. For example, if a brand sells headphones, the AI can make one ad that highlights fashion for style-focused shoppers, another that emphasizes sound quality for music fans, and a third that focuses on comfort for frequent travelers.

Simplifying Creator Collaborations

Along with the new AI features, Meta is making it easier for brands to connect and work with creators on its platforms.

Meta is launching the Facebook Creator Discovery API, which helps advertisers and agencies find creators more easily using filters such as keywords, audience details, and engagement rates. This makes it simpler and more efficient to find the right influencer partners.

Meta is also making the Instagram Creator Marketplace API available to all advertisers, agencies, and third-party developers in separate countries. Verified businesses on Instagram can now use the Creator Marketplace directly from Meta Business, soon giving them one place to manage partnerships and campaigns.

To help brands get more from organic content, Meta has updated its Partnership Ads Hub with AI-powered suggestions. Brands have now received recommended creator collaborations, which can quickly turn into partnership ads. Meta says that campaigns using creator content in partnership ads have seen up to a 19% lower cost per acquisition (CPA) and a 13% higher click-through rate (CTR) compared to standard campaigns.

Meta is also experimenting with new ways for creators to earn money through collaborations. This includes affiliate features on Facebook and letting creators and brands add product links directly to Facebook Reels so people can shop more easily from creator content.

AI-led Future for Advertising

These updates highlight Meta’s continued investment in AI-driven advertising, with Advantage Plus now integrating generative AI and creator ecosystems.

The goal is to help businesses of all sizes, from small advertisers to large agencies, create, personalize, and scale campaigns more quickly. AI helps adapt content for different audiences and formats.

By bringing together generative AI and better creator discovery tools, Meta aims to be a complete advertising platform that links creative automation with influencer-driven storytelling.

On a clear evening in March 2026, thousands of people along the coast watched a striking sight in the sky high above. A glowing plume spread out against dusk, changing from electric blue to soft violet. Many people call this the Airspace Nebula, but it is actually a result of modern rocket launches. The recent SpaceX launch created a jellyfish-shaped cloud, a beautiful sign of how often we now reach into space.

To those who know what to look for, this space jellyfish is not a natural mystery. Instead, it shows how rocket exhaust interacts with sunlight at high altitude above Earth.

The Autonomy of a Space Jellyfish

The jellyfish effect happens during a short window, about 30 to 60 minutes before sunrise or after sunset. While people on the ground are in darkness, the rocket, now more than 100 kilometers up, is still lit by the sun.

When the Falcon 9 or Starship’s second stage fires, it releases water vapor and carbon dioxide. In the thin upper atmosphere, these gases quickly disperse. With little air pressure, the plume spreads upward for hundreds of miles instead of fading like a jet trail.

The tentacles of the jellyfish shape come from the main engine’s exhaust, while the bell forms as the gases spread out and catch sunlight from behind the curve of the Earth. This effect, part of the “twilight phenomenon,” lights up tiny ice crystals that appear when the water vapor freezes instantly in space.

Atmospheric Physics and the Twilight Phenomenon

The large size of a jellyfish cloud is due to how the rocket’s nozzle works. Near the ground, air pressure keeps the exhaust narrow, but once the rocket passes the Kármán line, there is almost no air, so the exhaust spreads out very quickly.

The bright colors seen during the SpaceX event were caused by Mie scattering. This is different from Rayleigh scattering, which makes the sky blue. Mie scattering occurs when particles, such as ice crystals and leftover fuel, are about the same size as the wavelength of light. Depending on where you stand and where the sun is, the cloud can look orange or deep blue.

On this SpaceX mission, the rocket’s path kept the second stage in sunlight for almost 20 minutes, so the plume stayed visible for a long time. This usually means the rocket is using a lot of energy to reach a high orbit, while maintaining a certain angle to enter a geostationary transfer orbit.

Environmental Aspects and Reusable Rocketry

While the visible display is indisputable and these clouds are beautiful, scientists are now discussing how frequent launches might affect the upper atmosphere. As SpaceX aims to launch several times each week, groups like NOAA are watching. The build-up of water vapor and soot in the stratosphere is among the cleanest in the world, utilizing refined kerosene, RP-1, or liquid methane. These propellants produce significantly less particulate matter than the solid rocket boosters used on the space shuttle. However, the vast amount of water vapor injected into the ionosphere can cause temporary ionospheric holes localized thinnings of the plasma layer that can briefly affect GPS signals and shortwave radio propagation.

The Public Perception Of New-Age Aerospace

SpaceX launches now create jellyfish clouds so often that they have shifted public perceptions of spaceflight. Just a decade ago, rocket launches were rare events seen mostly on television. Today, they are local light displays that draw crowds and flood social media with photographs.

To many people, these clouds show progress and mark our steps into the solar system. Some regard them as a sign of the crowded sky problem, in which the splendor of launches comes with concerns about space junk and light pollution for astronomers. SpaceX has tried to help by adding dark-side coatings to Starlink satellites, but the bright exhaust from clones from rocket launches remains an unavoidable and beautiful part of chemical launches. For the remainder of 2026, the jellyfish will likely become a common fixture of the coastal skyline. With the Starship program reaching operational maturity at Starbase, Texas, and the continued expansion of the Florida launch complexes, the atmospheric canvas will be painted more frequently than ever before.

Upcoming advancements in propulsion, such as nuclear, thermal, or electric ionic drives, may eventually eliminate these violet displays as they do not rely on the massive chemical expansion of water and CO2. But for now, the SpaceX jellyfish remains the most spectacular bridge between our terrestrial home and the vacuum home of the void.

Final Thoughts: A Sky Reimagined

The SpaceX jellyfish cloud is more than a viral photo. It is a real-time physics experiment and a sign of the new space age. It makes us look up and realize that the line between Earth and Space is thinner and more active than we think. Whether you see it as a wonder of technology or a disruption in the sky, it is hard to deny the power of a machine that runs the air into a bright show of light and movement.
